Oil canvas
216" x 132"

This oil on canvas begins your discovery with an aerial view of a room with a tile floor. Various objects in the room are strategically placed around the key figure in the painting. On the right wall one can identify a framed painting of the Last Supper by Leonardo Da Vinci. On the floor tiles in shadow of table here is a version of the crucifix and next to it a suggestion of an upside down human figure hanging by a tree, which relates to the title. While Dali painted the Crucifix from a high point above the cross and looking down on the shoulders, Marquez challenges us with a space and a perspective totally new and unusual.  In the shadows cast on the wall by bowl of fruit on table in upper right we find the virgin Mary praying. The dominance of the red color reminds me of Mel Gibson's bloody Passion movie.
